FAQs
What should I expect?
You should expect a very relaxing and enjoyable experience out in nature! Your guide will greet you at the designated trail entrance and lead you through a series of sensory experiences designed to facilitate developing a connection with the natural world, allowing you time to de-stress and bathe in what the forest offers. All of our in-person forest therapy experiences take place at local forested trails within managed parks in the Greater New Orleans Area. These are not hikes meant for exercise, but thoughtful walks in an immersive setting. Trails and activities are not strenuous. We use well-maintained, flat surface, mulched, gravel, or earth trails.
How do I book an offering?
Our Contact Us page is where you can either request a private group offering, or reserve a spot in a forest therapy guide offering. Be sure to check out the Calendar page for our special deals and promotions. Limited availability, so book today!
How should I dress?
There is a saying, There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. With that in mind, dress comfortably and for the weather. Comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing to take off or put on as the temperature may get hotter or colder during the program are recommended. For your comfort, please feel free to bring a small cushion or camping chair if needed while sitting.
Do you Cancel if it's raining?
Swamp Lotus programs run sprinkle or shine. (Remember that quote about bad weather and bad clothing?). Some of the best forest experiences can happen in the rain. In the event of severe or life-threatening weather that causes Swamp Lotus to cancel a program, Swamp Lotus will offer participants the option to either select another program date or offer a full refund.
